Ian Crocker
- Four-time Olympic medalist (2000, 2004)
- Swam the fastest butterfly leg in history -- after Michael Phelps gave up his spot -- to capture the gold in the medley relay in Athens, was second to Phelps in the butterfly and earned a bronze on the 400m freestyle relay
- Earned gold medals and world records in the medley relay at both the 2000 and 2004 Olympic Games.
- Beat Michael Phelps in the 100m butterfly in world-record time at the 2003 World Championships
- Won three medals at the 2005 World Championships: 2 gold (100m butterfly, 400m medley relay), silver (50m butterfly)
- Set world records in two events and won four gold medals at the 2004 Short Course World Championships
- Named 2004 NCAA Swimmer of the Year, after breaking short course world records in the 100m free and 100m fly
- First 15-year-old and under American to go under 1:50 in the 200m free ('98 Summer Nationals)
- His home state of Maine did not have a 50-meter swimming pool when he was growing up
- Just missed a bronze medal in the 100m fly at 2000 Olympic Games
- While working on his car engine in late spring 2002, he severely cut his right hand on a fan blade and needed stitches

Crocker qualified for the 2000 U.S. Olympic Team without the luxury of training in a 50m pool back in his home state of Maine. He has since lent his celebrity status towards fundraising efforts to build Maine's first 50m aquatic complex.
