Alissa Czisny
- 2005 Skate Canada gold medalist
- 2005 Skate America silver medalist
- Qualified for the 2005 Grand Prix Final in Tokyo, Japan where she placed sixth
- Competing in new, two-piece, metal-hinge skates which are designed absorb the shock of landing jumps and prevent injury. Amanda Evora and Mark Ladwig are the only other members of the U.S. National team to be using these skates
- Placed sixth at 2005 World Junior Championships
- Finished first in the freeskate and second overall in 2005 Smart Ones Skate America
- Finished seventh at the 2005 State Farm U.S. Championships
- Began skating at the age of 16 months
- Mother began taking skating lessons and was forced to bring her daughters with her when they refused to stay home with a baby-sitter
- Has a twin sister (Amber) who is also a senior ladies national and international skater
- Favorite skater is Scott Hamilton who is also from Bowling Green
- Enjoys playing the piano, ballet, rock (wall) climbing, 3-D art, reading, rollerblading, biking
- Spends time learning foreign languages
- Favorite jump is the triple lutz ... also likes spirals and Russian splits
Alissa is currently a student at Bowling Green State University majoring in international studies. She manages to balance a packed figure skating schedule and a full course load, even making the Dean’s list her freshman year. After being selected as a last minute replacement for injured superstar Sasha Cohen, Czisny went on to win a silver medal at Skate America, Czisny returned home to take a French exam, then boarded a plane to St. John's, Newfoundland, where she won gold at the Skate Canada International.

On one of her most memorable skating moments, skating just before Michelle Kwan at the 2002 U.S. Nationals. "It was so exciting to be on the same warm up ice with such a beautiful skater, and then to be able to watch her compete her short program as I stood by the boards, just having completed mine."
