- Named to the 2002 All-WUSA Second Team
- A Parade and NSCAA All-American selection in 1995 at Norfolk (Va.) Academy and finished as school’s all-time leading scorer with 204 goals and 106 assists
- Made the 2003 Women’s World Cup Team, but a shin injury precluded her from seeing any action during the tournament
- Earned the first nine caps of her international career in 2002, starting two games and scoring her first international goal against Costa Rica at the CONCACAF Women’s Gold Cup
- Finalist for the 1999 Hermann Trophy for best collegiate player
- Graduated from Univ. of Virginia in May 2000 with a degree in Anthropology
- All-time leader in goals at the University of Virginia (1996-1999) finishing with 59 goals and 138 points; holds the record at Virginia for most game-winning goals with 19

Angela turned to soccer after giving up swimming lessons. "It was just too early for me and the water was freezing cold," she says. Hucles played on boys' teams until she was 13. Unlike most of her national teammates, Hucles did not have an older brother that she followed into soccer. Instead, it was the reverse -- her brother, Philip, took up the game because of his sister. Philip later played at William and Mary.
