Scurry, Briana
- Two-time Olympic gold medalist (1996, 2004)
- 1999 World Cup champion, 2003, 1995 World Cup bronze medalist
- Holds the U.S. Women's National team records for most appearances by a goalie, most wins and most shutouts
- Promised to “run naked through the streets of Athens, Georgia” if the USA won the gold medal at the 1996 Olympics … and of course she followed through on her promise after playing every minute of the Olympics in the goal
- Played every minute of the 1999 World Cup allowing only three goals, while recording four shutouts
- First appearance on the National team was March 16, 1994, against Portugal where she recorded a shutout
- Most capped goalkeeper in U.S. Women’s National Team history, starting tree times as many matches as any other goalkeeper
- The only goalkeeper in Women's National team history to play in over 100 matches
- Was USA’s starting goalkeeper from 1994-1999 losing her starting goalie spot on the National team to Siri Mullinix after battling injuries and having to take an almost two-year leave of the sport but regained the starting position for the 2003 World Cup
- Graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a degree in Political Science
- Voted top collegiate goalkeeper in 1993 when she led UMass to the NCAA semifinals and had a 17-3-3 record
- Member of the Atlanta Beat of the WUSA; led the WUSA in 2001 with the best goals against average, .82 goals per game, and holds the WUSA record for career shutouts with 13
- Prefers outdoors soccer to indoor soccer because it's a lot more tactical and she can use her athleticism a lot better
- Voted the top female athlete in Minnesota her senior year of high school
“After two years of WUSA action, Bri has reestablished herself as one of the top goalkeepers in the world," says her WUSA coach Tom Stone. "Her play for the Beat has led to her return to the as the number one goalkeeper for the U.S. Women’s National Team."
